INTRODUCTION
Southeast University stands among the pioneering institutions in China to offer urban planning education, with its urban and rural planning discipline dating back to 1927. Evolving in tandem with China’s urbanization, the program has built a distinguished academic legacy in spatial planning and morphological studies. Over time, it has expanded its scope to encompass urban renewal, planning history and heritage conservation, regional development and territorial spatial planning, housing and community development, and intelligent planning and design. Spanning nearly a century, it has nurtured a wealth of exceptional talent, including China’s first academician in urban design and the nation’s inaugural National Engineering Survey and Design Master. As one of China’s most historic and influential hubs for urban planning education and research, the planning department continues to lead and shape the discipline’s future.
